About the McNicholl School of Irish Dancing
McNicholl School of Irish Dancing was formed in June 2007.
Sinead was just 3 years of age when she started to Irish dance. Sinead has had an extremely successful Irish Dancing career as a pupil of the Smith School of Irish Dancing. Sinead has won numerous prestigious titles and the highlight of her Dancing career was successfully when she retained her Ulster Title for the 6th time in 2001. She was also extremely successful in Figure dancing as she went onto win an All Ireland Title in the Freestyle Event in 2006.
It was under her uncle Eugene Smith (Founder member of the Smith School of Irish Dancing) that she qualified as a TCRG. Sinead opened her first Irish Dancing class in 2007 in Castledawson, which was then followed by Feeny, Glenullin, Drumsurn, and more recent Foreglen. Details of all classes can be found here.
Next to join the school was her brother Seamus McNicholl, who qualified in August 2010, and again it was under the guidance of his uncle Eugene, that he qualified as an Irish Dancing Teacher. Seamus also had an extremely successful Irish Dancing career with his highlight coming in April 2009 when he was crowed Senior Mens' All Ireland and International Champion in Ennis Co. Clare. Seamus was also successful in Ulster winning 4 Ulster titles, and also won many figure championships from u10 - Senior Freestyle Title. Seamus Opened his first class in Rasharkin in September 2010 and C0leraine in November 2010.
The final addition to the McNicholl School of Irish Dancing was younger brother Niall who qualified as an Irish Dancing Teacher in August 2011. Niall McNicholl was also successful in Solo and Figure dancing and qualified under the guidance of his uncle Eugene as a TCRG in August 2011. Niall went on to open his first class in Antrim September 2011 and more recently Lissan in March 2012.
